Who Is Copious?
After a hiatus of almost 10 years, singer/songwriter/guitarist Mikhail Petersen is picking up where he left off under the name WHO IS COPIOUS?, at the WHIPPERSNAP FESTIVAL with a formidable backup unit to help him bring his music to life on Wednesday night.
(Mikhail is the former frontman and primary songwriter for Atlanta band Copious Jones. It took some effort to get him to agree to come down. Thanks to everyone that requested his music for WHIPPERSNAP!)
On the drums, established drum royalty and Grammy-nominated Marcus Williams (Isaac Hayes, Gloria Gaynor, Candi Staton...the list goes on...) brings his incredible talent and wisdom to the table. Marcus's approach to music, born from decades of experience on every level, has truly influenced the direction and intentions of Mikhail's music, and is a big reason for his return to the stage.
Holding down the bass and/or guitar, Mikhail and Marcus are joined by Sean Hartley (Tire Fire, Dotline Projekt, Frogs of Calabash). A seasoned veteran of the local and regional scene, Sean plays whatever the song needs, always complementing the music rather than competing with it.
So...WHO IS COPIOUS?
The three main members of the band will always be drawing from their extensive collective list of talented friends to join them in bringing Mikhail's music to life.
For the WHIPPERSNAP FESTIVAL: Marcus, Sean, and Mikhail are honored and excited to be joined by all the members of Atlanta power-trio AsydeQuest (Arrie Bozeman, Richie Jones, and Justin Boudreau), as well as the incredible Dani Jaye (Tire Fire, Light The Wire, Vision Crystal) on violin and Ian Klin (formerly of international touring band Susto) on keyboards, for what promises to be a heartfelt, one-of-a-kind reunion you simply won't get anywhere else.
