Daniel Heitz Band

If you’ve ever seen Daniel Heitz chances are he had a guitar in his hands. Daniel first started playing guitar at the age of 9 influenced by his father Dan Heitzhausen Sr.

The Heitz family frequented the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, FL where young Daniel was introduced to the music of the Allman Brothers at the Wanee Music Festival. The Heitz household showcases photos of young Daniel Heitz with guitar legends Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes from these festival ventures.

“Going to Wanee and seeing the Allman Brothers changed my whole outlook on life and set me on the path I’m on now” says Heitz

With the inspiration of these musical ventures Heitz started his own band as a young teen called the Daniel Heitz Band. Accompanied by his father on Bass the band would become a regular name in the FL blues scene with consistent gigs at venues such as The Alley in Sanford, FL. The DHB would go on to open up for the Doobie Brothers, the Outlaws, Eric Gales, Devon Allman and more.

Daniel was a regular attendee at the Roots Rock Revival master camp in the Catskills during his high school years. Learning from the best, Heitz was instructed by musicians such as Otiel Burbridge, Luther Dickinson, Butch Trucks and more. Taz Niederauer was also a child camp attendee learning the ropes with Heitz at Roots Rock Revival.

After ten years of cutting his teeth performing with his dad in the DHB, Daniel landed himself the lead guitar role in Orlando’s best Rock band Thomas Wynn & the Believers. Daniel Went on 3 different tours with Thomas Wynn opening up for Tyler Bryant & the Shakedown ,the Temperance Movement and Black Stone Cherry.

Heitz has recently been recruited by young guns The Fitzkee brothers and Abb tribute trouble no more doing gigs around the east coast.

Years back, Heitz invited now band mate Chuck Magid to join the DHB for their former residency every Wednesday night at Tanquerays Bar where the two developed a natural chemistry. By popular demand Heitz and Magid have started a new weekly residency as the Chuck Magid and Daniel Heitz Experience every Thursday in Heitz’s old stomping grounds of Sanford, FL at Tuffy's Bottle Shop & Lounge in the Music Box.

You can hear how natural it sounds coming out of Heitz's guitar with the licks and riffs influenced by a deep tradition of blues, southern rock and jam in a stage near you!
